Weight Weenie Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Well for a 26"tyre I love the Aspen so think it should be great on a 29'' as well, for Gauteng races where its dry to loose and maybe damp. Its an eXCeption tyre so yeah, durability is limtited and tread wears fast but if you're light and not a bash into things type rider give them a try you wont be dissapointed. Did run mine at 3 towers challenge without issues but if you're a regular sidewall slasher I think you would do well to avoid these rather.
jannosmit Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 i took my dad's 29er for a spin in jonkershoek today! awesome at singletrack! unlucky for me back to my 26er again as for the tyres: both maxxis, aspen exception on front, ikon exc exo protection at the back, both superb!!
Thumper Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Took a look at Waylon's bike yesterday.Geax aka (2.2) at the rear with Geax Saguaro (2.2)at the front.Both had a TNT logo on them so I assume they are tubeless?

Thumper - TNT means Tube-No-Tube and is their term for tubeless ready, normal sideall but UST type bead so the tyre doesn't burp or roll off the rim, they usually ad about a 100g to the weight, 26'' versions of those around 560g
