I know the Pro Ultimate are supposed to be really warm but there is not a size I find comfortable.

There are two models of Louis Garneu that I find comfortable, they are -

Gel Race

Wind Tex Eco Flex (R150.00 more expensive)

Any comments on these as a winter glove?

Any other suggestions?

I suggest you go the motorbike route, find a good glove, and then go to outdoor warehouse, get some thinsulate inners. Works like a bomb. and trust me, and 5am, the windchill on the motard is a lot more than on the bicycle.

Maybe get the inners first, so you know what size glove to get at the bike shop...

My motorbike gloves will be pretty warm but they may look a bit out of place on a bicycle roadie

No man, don't use the motorbike gloves on the pedal bike, just the inners. get a good pair of cycling gloves, but those thinsulate inners are the key. Dunno if it's a motorbike thing, but I discovered it from a ThinkBike mate.

That, or ski gloves. On the push bike I use a pair of 15year old Briko ski gloves. Never even had a mildly cool finger, let alone cold.

No worries. Of course the ski gloves I use have a -30degree rating, dunno what that'll cost these days.

I have the LG Wind Tex Eco Flex and they're not nearly as toasty as my Ryder winter gloves... If you can, get the Ryder gloves, no need for inners with them, but I will be going the inners route with my LG gloves....

I can't remember.... It must have been around R300-00, but that was 3 or 4 years ago... Honestly at 4:30am, with freezing hands, I'd pay R1 000-00 for them ;)

I expect they are reasonably priced, I will call around tomorrow to see if I can find stock. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Chris, these are the ones I have, use and love!

Louis Garneau - Wind Tex Eco Flex

Paid around R400 for them and they are very comfy and warm.

Enough space to wear inners if you really want to but I havent yet needed inners.

Then again it is not as cold down here as it is up there where you are :D

Try the Assos Early Winter glove. If it is still too cold, combine it with the Assos insulator. I ride with the combination in 5C and my hands are quite comfortable.
