why would you want such a fast car ? its not like you car drive it decently on south africa roads .....

Same reason why you can buy a 50k - 80k bicycle and ride for a sub 5 Argus..... :D

Probably a nice redone Ford 351. Plenty power, and I wouldn't race it flat out, so it wouldn't blow up. You don't have to kill a V8 to enjoy it. Even a small block 289 like the older Mustangs had would work nicely in the fiberglass body. Comparing a stock car to a "classic" is not apples with apples. The two owners couldn't be more different. If you are not concerned about it being like the originals, maybe look at the Lexus V8's like some street rodders are doing. They say it's cost effective, very smooth and if the electrics are done properly, very reliable. This I was told a few weeks ago by the owner of one...

Get the 351...most awesome sounding V8 (something to do with the firing order)

Aerodynamics will stop it from reaching even close to 400 km/h....

The Veyron has 1001 hp and has to work it's butt of to get above 400km/h....

Agree, won't get close to that if you ask me.For starters it does not have a wing on the back for down force!!

Well if a Jag chassis was used and now a 5-series, I would'nt worry about the Chev engine making it a mongrel.

Was at a stock car race years ago in Goodwood, when they had an American team out there. The commentator asked them why they all run Chev engines and not Ford, the answer was:" Ford engine engines heat up and then they blow up.."

PS: Rather get Hitec Automotive here in PE to build you a proper replica.

I've had the pleasure of touring the Hi Tech factory in PE and it was awesome. What is interesting is that Hi Tech is the only company in the world that has a licence agreement with Ford and Carol Shelby, meaning that the Cobras and the GT40s that you get from them are theoretically not replicas, but originals. They are also the only comapny in the world that are allowed to call their vehicles AC Cobras and GT 40s

In fact, their GT 40s are the only "modern built" cars that are eligible to race in the FIA classic series. Their stuff is known worldwide for its quality.

So does yours have a Chev engine? If so it's not a classic, but a mongrel...

Q: Why don't ford V8 owners have any hair on their chest?

A: Because the distributor cap rubs it off each time they lean into the engine bay to fix something!!
