Im currently on 2.35 nevagals up front with a 2.1 nevagal at the back.

Its time fore a new set of rubber and there are just too many options as to what i can get.

i was going to stick with the above but i cant source 2.3 Nevs at a decent price.

so give your advice and why you like the setup :)

please and thank you.

i can get 2.1 nevs but do want the 2.3 up front :D

When I had an AM rig I started off with 2.35" Maxxis Minion DH's... they gripped awesome, but had quite a high rolling resistance.

I then switched to 2.4" Continental Mountain Kings. Way less rolling resistance, and still decently grippy

I currently have a Maxxis Ardent 2.4" in the front and Geax Sturdy 2.25" on the back.

For a better rolling/lighter/more XC setup I have a Minion 2.35 on the front and Geax Saguarro 2.2 or possibly Schwalbe Nobby Nic on the back.

flowta? how is that ardent.I recently purchased a casing from Action Cycling. Meant to replace the tired minion on the rear of my XC bike. What's your experiences with it?

Hi I currently have the same setup as you and I must say the 2.35 at the front works very well and noticably better than a 2.1, which i tried previously aswell. So rather try to get a 2.35 for the front again or maybe something else that's similar.

For the back though I personally wouldn't go with a 2.1 Nevegal again since the sideknobs on my tyre started to tear of after about 10 months of riding. Im not sure why this happened but something similar also happened to a friend of mine who ran a 2.35 at the back. Im currently thinking of getting something like a Maxxis High Roller where the sideknobs seems to be more closely spaced or perhaps a fatter tyre with a lower profile.

my rear nev has a bad nick in the sidewall. im a bit concerned at the durability of it. i have a scratch on the rim so looks like it bashed a rock, but those sidewalls are super thin.

I cant get a 2.35 for the front which is really my biggest issue.

im trying to find a good front tyre that is nevagelish haha.

Dude. Have you tried Leigh's Cycle Center Pavilion?

dude - speak to jason at leighs - go get single-ply 2.35 Minion Fronts from him - they like 300 bucks a tyre! - If he doesnt have get him to order! BUT they are tube tyres hey ... are you running tubeless?

not running tubeless, was going to but not too phased about it.

just got quoted 800+ for 2.35 nevegal tubeless from evans, formerly powercycles and they'd have to order them in

R461 for tubeless 2.1

So far it has been great. A little heavy as it is a DH 2 Ply with wirebead. Set it up tubeless with no problem.

Nice big volume tyre, not like the older Maxxis tyres it is a real 2.4

Front:

Maxxis High Roller 2.35" Single Ply Super Tacky 42a compound.

It's not UST but works perfectly with Stans

Light and no problems in 5 years on 6" bike.

Rear:

Maxxis High Roller 2.35" dual ply 60 compound.

Flippin heavy but bullet proof.

It's not UST but works perfectly with Stans

And the same on my DH bike but in 2.5.

Never had luck with Kendas - always puncturing sidewalls or tread.

I am running 2.35 Nevs front and back on my Reigns. One bike without tubes, the other with. Grip is fantastic, but the rolling resistance is not so nice. I would have preferred a 2.1 on the back of the light bike though.

My DJ bike also has 2.35 Nevs on.

I have been thinking they must be super cheap, because they come standard on everything.
