Why has nobody replied to my wanted ad? Somebody out there must have a bike like this they want to sell

I am assuming you are looking for a second hand bike, what price range are you looking at, etc......

There is quite a bit of info there, it is under the hardtail section, must be 10 speed SLX so must be 2011 model and I am in Fourways area

 

Just to clarify one thing, I am not buying an unseen bike so it needs to be reasonably local

 

Price wise - Must be reasonably priced for an SLX specked bike. If you want to give me a 10 speed XT spec at the SLX price we can also talk

 

Yes, used bike please and I would expect at least 25% off the new price for that reason or it would just make more sense to go to the LBS and buy new with warranty etc.

Yes but size, location and spec (10 speed SLX) are important so I am not having too much luck in there.

 

I tried to buy back the Spectra I sold but unfortunately the buyer is too attached to it

Don't dispair, you'll find an XT bike for the right price, and don't let location put you off. We have hubbers all over who will go check it out, and assist you with the deal. Ya just have to ask.

OK, I can see there is not too much out there so if the price is right I will consider a 2011 with 9 speed SLX, maybe a Silverback Ventura or similar.

 

Or, I guess a 2011 9 speed XT

Apart from the 9 speed, Suntour fork and Tektro brakes it is exactly what I am looking for

Nothing wrong with 9 speed, its about R230 for a chain and about R250 for cassette, that Suntour fork (Mag 32 air on mine) has taken me well over 8,000km around Magalies (took it apart last week, new 5w fork oil and its still going strong!) and the Tektro brakes stop me fine, pads are cheap too as you can use Deore pads as well!
