I saw some of the new ones at the Swellendam canola festival, mtb of course, dont look nice.

Anyway, i think it's a clever marketing idea of PPA, Now people will bring their road numbers to mtb events and mtb numbers to road events and everything will be confusing and people will have to pay R30 extra for their seeded temp. numbers.

Nope....

but how did you go from J to E? I went from G to F....

Not from this new reseeding business, just from performance since January.

In this I went from E-C.

Because now the groups have been re-sized and all the higher groups have been made bigger, My point being that last years A-E is going to be the same people as this years A-B, if they keep it at A-E too many people will enter and it will be overcrowded.

According to DMC's ladder, the indexes have all been adjusted.

Now, instead of getting a 60.0 which used to be an O i think, 60.0 is equal to a V or something much lower down the alphabet.

It will now be harder to get a seeding of 10.0 than it used to be.

Otherwise their adjustments don't make sense.

do you honestly tihnk ppa care if elite is over crowded?

they've adjusted the indexes. Previously to get a C seeding you needed an index of 8.5. I'm still seeded C, but my index is now

so you're wrong. last years a-E will still be a-e

As a junior I am not allowed to be recognized if I race over 80km on the road and 35km on mtb.

Unless it's a national classic like the Argus/Die Burger/Amashova.

I was not trying to show him your results...was saying how you climb the seeding ladder so fast...considering you are a C now...I think it will be way more challenging to keep up with the older 'C' group people than the current people you cycle with

Yes, definitely.

I wouldn't try to keep up with them in a longer race because i'll most probably get dropped.

I might very well drop myself to E which will still be very fast.

That was the point I was trying to make, considering everyone wants a A-E....those people race their PPA races....if not in Elites they still want to win the bunch...

Great results Zac!!!! Nothing to be ashamed of there.

Now I am SERIOUSLY considering doing the shorter races. You keep pace for longer without worrying about the last 20Km+ extra that you would have done.... hmmmm. BUT, you do have weight on your side I am sure - I am probably tipping the scale at 40Kg's more than you....

I don't think that much more.

The thing is, that the shorter races don't have as many groups and they usually splinter from the start.

I've done a lot of races by myself coming 3rd and the people who start in the lower groups catch the faster groups of the long ride and get a free ride to the line.

There I fixed it. I HATE wheelsuckers! :cursing:
