I have a budget of +- 5K for 29er wheelset.

I weigh 65kg, 1.76m tall

What is the lightest wheels I could possibly build?

Is there anything lighter than:

Stans ZTR crest rims?

DT Swiss Revolution spokes?

A2Z XC Hub Set?

and what nipples to use? brass or aluminium

I am looking at a sub 1400g build...

Let me know what your thoughts are

Stans ZTR podium would be lighter and should doable for 5k. Only for light riders though :P

Sub 1400g???

Dont think you're gonna get sub 1400g without spending quite a bit of money.

Best bet would be to get the lightest you can find and replace with a super light spoke set.

I see they are discontinued, so where would I find a set and at what price am I looking?

They have been replaced by the ztr race gold wheelset.

Not really sure what the difference is but it should be on the stans site.

Two Wheels Trading are the local agents so would be best to inquire with them or via the lbs.

I know you can also buy the wheels directly from the stans website so consider that option.

Though last time I checked they were about 1000 dollars so bit above your budget.

They are also race only wheels so you'll need a 2nd pair to train with on the mtb
