Firewolf, just take waterless hand cleanser with and buy only bottled water from shops - price varies between 12 and 15 rupees for a 1.5lt bottle of water (which is R4 to R5 in ZAR terms depending on the current interest rate).

I had no issues whilst there, and what was more awesome is that I ate like a pig and didn't put on any weight just merely because the food is more veg based vs meat based in SA.

Oh ja, go veg for most meals unless you know where the meat came from.... I heard a few stories whilst I was there and was glad we stuck to veg option.

Tip: have a teaspoon of yoghurt when you arrive. This will acclimatise your stomach to the cultures in milk products. Then you are good to go

Thanks for that advice.

Did not go so well on Sun - 2:46 but maybe that is from spending Sat riding around on my new single speed and drinking copius quantities of Old English Ale at the Food Market in Tokai.

Not concerned though, as I enjoyed the event. The gravel section was smoother than last year and less sandy.

It's a pleasure - we had local info when we arrived so we knew what to expect.

re the race - yeah, that dirt section was a lot better than last year. Glad I have moved up the seeding ladder because last year there was almost a huge crash at the low water bridge because someone locked up their brakes.

Bud i still wanted to apologise to you! When we turned left from the Robertson rd onto the nuy rd i bumped into you. I thought i was holding my line but at that stage i was knackered so i might have misjudged it. Sorry for that and sorry about your bad luck!

No worries! These things happen.

Kent why you not racing League? I know you got the legs for that level so...?!!??

I wish! Have too many business commitments nowadays so the training is not where it used to be. It was fun while it lasted.
