Okay' date=' this stuff is starting to work for me. I had a bottle of this stuff during the morning before yesterday's race at Avianto. I only took water with me on the bike and I was perfect for the whole 1h55m of the race.[/quote']

Mampara, you always ask great questions.

If you're a happy consumer, then that is a good test.

Will get my supply soon as I'm back in SA - training for my 1st D C.

32Gi had some great successes at Comrades:

?  Stephen Muzhingi ? 1st Place (Gold) ? Runs only on 32Gi, unfortunately he actually fell quite ill during the run and this dashed his hopes of a record time, but none the less he completed his second back to back victory which is a record in itself as no one has ever achieved 2 back to back down run victories. Stephen runs for the Formula 1 team which is entirely fuelled by 32Gi

?  Bongmusa Mthembu 4th Place (Gold) ? Bongi had a great run yesterday, felt good the entire way and is determine to podium next year, he runs only on 32Gi. Bongi runs for Mr Price.

?  Fanie Matshipa ? 5th Place (Gold) ? Fanie is part of the Toyota running team and the entire team is fuelled by 32Gi only.

?  Gift Kalehe ? 15th place, a contender for the future, Andrew?s Kalehe?s (10 time Gold medalist) younger brother had a phenomenal race this year.

?  Lindsay van Aswegen ? 8th Place (Gold Medal) ? Lindsay bettered who time be a whopping 25 minutes over last year, and broke the Breintjieshoogte Ultra 14 year record last month, she also runs for Team Toyota.

I have been reading this thread over the past few weeks with a bit of doubt. My mate ran his first Comrades and used 32Gi, he says that he had steady energy throughout the race. So I'm going to give it a give it a try.

Why did Stephen fall ill during the race?

@Wobbly

Great your friend had a good experience, 32Gi works there is no doubt, the research is really starting to mount up we had an athlete run the 370km in 7 days recently the 7in7 challenge, he felt great throughout as well.

As for Stephen, we are not sure, a number of athletes fell ill on the day including one of the favourites Josh Cox the american. Talks with Josh revealed the same symptoms as Stephen, and Josh nailed it down to dehydration. The pace started out so so fast, it was crazy, at halfway they were 20 minutes faster than Shertovs record pace, however the weather in the morning was so so cold, so athletes never took in as much liquid as they would usually, but the pace might have required more. There are a number of theories going around, the race doctor reported a large number of people complaining of nausea, stomach cramps, etc.

it could be water related or bug related, we are not sure, its all speculation but we are all looking into it.

Tried this stuff at the Comrades expo...it tastes great and has the sort of consistency that would not be a problem over a long period.

I have some races towards the end of the year, and will be giving it a go.

I agree! This stuff is the Business!

Tried it for the first time at Bela Bela. Crashed out with roughly 15kms to go but damn have never felt so good! Followed the simple instructions and the Raspberry tastes great!

Great product Mark!!! smiley32.gif

Fellow Riders,

I presume a typical recovery drink and, shortly after, recovery meal is good after using 32gi.

Le'me know...

@Geno, 32Gi is not a recovery drink so yes Gino, something high GI is required.

My recovery meals are usually: A decent carb and protein meal, if its a killer workout pizza goes down well lol.

One thing u will notice is your glycogen replenishment time is quicker after having used 32Gi, as its quite spared.

A little trick, black coffee, ie: caffeine with the carb meal, has proven to speed up glycogen recovery time by up to 70%.

Valuable.

Got my 1st purchase today - will use it on Saturday for my looong ride.

Now to change my so-so GI breakfast to a low-GI breakfast.
