I have recently joined the 32GI hype... took 600ml with me on my regular hill training ride, and must admit that I was doing great, felt strong and flattened those climbs. My conclution... either I am getting fricken fit or this stuff is really good! Did not use it on my short and fast rides, but will put it to the test again this weekend.

You should drink it before you start riding. I drink 500ml with breakfast and only take water with me these days. I'm good for a nice 3hr 90km ride.

MTBVIP - Its great that you ask that question, but the truth is all carbohydrates differ from one another, so if I told you 47grams of carbs per a serving. You might say mmm, too little. However if I told you that it sustains you for 2 hours at least, because it only gives the muscles the exact amount of glucose they require and the balance is tapped from the fat stores, you might think differently. Dont be fooled into thinking amount of carbs is the answer per an hour, muscles need glucose to function, glucose comes from calories = carbs, every carbohydrate is different most high gi products actually pump too much in, yes the conversion rate is high no harm done, but how much is actually being used by the muscles.

would this assist in shedding a few KG's if it tapps into your fat stores??

Hoping so. Apparently it delivers energy more efficiently and burns more fat. That has to translate to losing weight.

Hi All, just in response to the shedding kilo's, it oxidizes a high percentage of fat and taps it as a energy source, so there are two things to consider here:

1. Yes, you will burn fat as a source of energy but in realistic terms you need to exercise for a period of time. no use in using it for an hour and expecting it to just burn fat or by keeping still, water will be better for shorter workouts unless you are going into race mode, but if you are going to use an energy drink, then 32Gi will be the option for a fat burning energy drink.

2. If you are using an energy drink, it will contain sugar no doubt, well un-used sugar will be stored, and when sugar is stored its stored as fat. Now most people that train with sugar drinks in hand, and dont utilise all that glucose and generally most people dont unless u r really going full throttle well, then you are actually gaining weight on the drink, so as far as weight goes, sugar or no sugar, we all know sugar is a weight gainer, so really whatever you use make sure you use it for its intended purpose and not just its taste or feel good.

32Gi in GI factor has less sugar than an apple, enjoy ;-)

Cytomax is a traditional high GI energy drink that spikes your blood sugar. This is low GI.

a blood sugar spike is exactly what you want when racing. low gi is fkn useless if you start bonking.
