Back out of the run. You'll only make it worse, and require longer recovery time. Listen to your body.

NOT what i want to hear! smile.gif

i'll rather try make a plan

after the run i have 2 weeks before buffet olives... ek sal dan recover??

Kinesio Tape - R120.00 at sportmans warehouse

It's mostly applied by physios. Have you had your injury professionally assessed ?

+1 to pull out of the race. You'll only make it worse.

The product you are referring to is Kinesio Tape. You can buy a brand at Sportsmans Warehouse. I find that it helps with aches and pains (similar active ingredient as Transact Tape as far as I know EDIT: This is not true).

Compression socks will not help with cramp. If I were you I would hit the physio for the week, use some of the tape until raceday and make a call in the morning. If in doubt, watch the Semi Finals!

Incorrectly applied tape is not going to help, in fact it might make the problem worse. Get a professional assessment, and have the first tape application done by a physio. If necessary, you can duplicate the position and tension of the tape when reapplying it yourself at a later stage. It's definitely not just a case of taping any which way. Correctly applied, however, it works well for certain injuries, hamstring being one of them.

There is no active ingredient like a transact patch. It is purely an elastic tape that offers support.

True: no active ingredient. Untrue: purely elastic tape that offers support. The tape is designed to promote osmosis and it is therefore imperative that it be applied by a knowledgeable person, preferably a kinesiologist.
