TNT1 Posted October 3, 2011 Share Back out of the run. You'll only make it worse, and require longer recovery time. Listen to your body.

You'll only make it worse. The product you are referring to is Kinesio Tape. You can buy a brand at Sportsmans Warehouse. I find that it helps with aches and pains (similar active ingredient as Transact Tape as far as I know EDIT: This is not true). Compression socks will not help with cramp. If I were you I would hit the physio for the week, use some of the tape until raceday and make a call in the morning. If in doubt, watch the Semi Finals! Falco Posted October 3, 2011 Share Incorrectly applied tape is not going to help, in fact it might make the problem worse. Get a professional assessment, and have the first tape application done by a physio. If necessary, you can duplicate the position and tension of the tape when reapplying it yourself at a later stage. It's definitely not just a case of taping any which way. Correctly applied, however, it works well for certain injuries, hamstring being one of them. There is no active ingredient like a transact patch. It is purely an elastic tape that offers support.

Enticement Posted October 7, 2011 Share There is no active ingredient like a transact patch. It is purely an elastic tape that offers support. True: no active ingredient. Untrue: purely elastic tape that offers support. The tape is designed to promote osmosis and it is therefore imperative that it be applied by a knowledgeable person, preferably a kinesiologist.
