Now for a more useful answer. Propably yes. I have seen guys loading kitchen cubboards on the trains so I am sure you can.

I would still ride the bike rather all the way. The scenery is better than Nigel ;)

I dont know if you can. I used to take my bike on the train back in the day when there were no conductors so you could ride for free. My wife catches the train to cape town every day. I will ask her to check tomorrow and will let you know.

Well yeah but that's not the question DoubleS!

How about if i take the stationary trainer to the train station, & exercise on the train to and from - will that get me an answer?

laugh.gif funny!

Seriously though, you can put your bike on the train when it's not busy, but I'm assuming you have a shitty bike, otherwise why would you make it available for repossession at popular Cape Flats stations such as Wynberg, Wittebome, Steenberg etc the list goes on. I don't even slow down through Muizenburg these days.

Best option for a scenic train ride to Simonstown would be to start at Muizenburg or St James - there is fokol to see between Claremont and there.

To ride from Claremont the best, most scenic, safest option is to go up to Newlands Avenue, cross the M3 and go past Kirstenbosch, right into Rhodes Drive, past Cecilia Forest, down into Constantia and take Spaanschemat River Road to the bottom of Ou Kaaps, turn right at Virgin Active, go past Stonehaven Estate on your right with Westlake Golf Course on your left, right on to Boyes Drive, then down Old Boyes Drive to Main Road and right, skip False Bay Station and get on at Muizenburg or St James (less crackheads).

Pretty sure you are NOT ALLLOWED bikes on trains. The only option is that you can put a folding bike on a train but it must be folded and in the bag!

I used to buy a monthly ticket from Fish Hoek to Rosebank. Mom shelled for first class so I could sit with the rest of the whiteys, but buying 3rd class saved me 90 bucks and meant I was flush for pool and arcade games for the rest of the month.
