As I was leaving Northern Farms this morning I was waved down by 2 guys that had just been held up at gunpoint , tied up and had their bikes stolen. Luckily they were not beaten up. They lost a carbon Yeti with shimano RR and a Spez Epic.

Best advice is to avoid riding in that area.

I take it this was on the road outside the farm? If so, I know this is a very crap thing to go through but as I have said before....why are people still riding that road? How many warnings have there been about it.

Glad they Ok

I'm so glad for them and their families that they weren't hurt

If it was your bike stolen please post pics so that we can look out and hopefully catch these scumbags

I picked them up as I was exiting the farm. I dont know them so cant post picks of their lost bikes.

Their feeling was that these muggers were lying waiting for cyclists as they seemed well prepared.

The Farm is the only safe place to ride in that area.

Well we know that is not true!

What a bloody pity... I am sick and tired of thuggs...

I am glad the guys are OK.

How do these guys hijack cyclists? do they have guns? knives? How many of them? where do they wait... at a slow technical spot? Please any info would make other cyclist safer?/

Pack your stuff and move to Ceres in the Western Cape.

Sounds like a great idea, if you either want to drive 200km per day to work or pick apples for a living.....
