  1. There is a group of mountainbikers every year (me included) that rides allmost every morning from the stillbaai bridge @06hoo. Usually between 60-110km routes.
  2. I'm an under-pronator and have runned with evey type and brand out there, and injuries kept coming. Bought a pair of terrafly 313's and havn't had a problem since. E-mail the guys from inov-8 rsa and describe your type of foot and running style/terain, they gave me amazing advice and service.
  3. Nice! Iove this route! Looks like the weather will be over by tomorrow. Currently cloudy but nice temp in ceres. Think the front will be good to compact the odd sandy road in the forest station
  4. Suggestion: put the raffle advert in the mtb classified section and pay the sticky add fee. Will get way more hits...and sell more tickets.
  5. I'm in. please pm me the banking details. What is the exact frame inch?
  6. Slabs. There is more than enough mechanics at the race to help with any problems. Its not worth the money to get an mechanic. Your bike gets washed for free and you can just lube it afterwards yourself, and if you see any problems ask a mechanic to help. Way cheaper. That's how we did it.
  7. Roughly every 30km. Food is provided by woolies- little muffins, fruit, pretzelz, jelly sweets, drinks etc. Was tired, so can't remember that well- was allways enough and good. At the end you get a woolies paper bag with a mini lunch- was different every day, but more than enough. Basicly the stuff you'll see at woolies in the 'take-away lunch" freezer.
  8. Can anybody explane what difference tyre width makes on a 29er wheel. Ex 29 x 1.95 vs 29 x 2.0 vs 29 x 2.2 etc. Is it only more volume giving a softer ride or what? Kom julle slimkoppe daar buite, help 'n bietjie!
  9. Hey Gill. Are you guys the "official" massagers for the epic?
  10. Tarmac, I love this pic! Can I have the full size version?
  11. Pack your stuff and move to Ceres in the Western Cape.
  12. The apple is low gi and most prob. your bread was too. 20min after that low gi breakfast, the carbs absorption would have been very little. And as soon as you start to get hypo from too little carbs, you'll be chasing your tail, so to speak, the rest of the ride. Eat more carbs before you go ride, dont know your weight, but 50g 1 hour before the ride is a good start. Top up the glucose stores with a energy drink while you ride. If the ride is less that 1hr stick to water only, if more than 1hr, top up. No use in depriving yourself from carbs before a ride, and then riding like crap. You'll see better results if you eat correct and ride harder. But just for safety, let your gp give you a check over. good luck
  13. Dave, some pics you might dig. The black and white one is some guy's tatoo! RAD!
  14. Hey Dave, sorry for the slow reply. Chain ring and hub came from old track bike they had lying around @ a shop. So, its all track, no bmx.The saddle is bmx. The handle bars i got from King cycles in worcester, they're a very old shop and have lots of odds lying around. Rear sprocket i bought from an high school guy that raced track and decided to go emo and quit. Rims i cheated and bought an already painted pair...shhh. I'll post you a cool gear inch chart i'm using, usually i keep it in the mid 70's. Think i'm running 18-48 or some odd currently, i'll have to check.
