jcmeyerSS Posted November 9, 2011 Share howzit gents. how we all doing on this hot summer day.got a question. My mate, bro and I are riding the 94.7 rode race on our 29er SS mtbs, there is a catch. One of us will be on a Choc Ice-cream bike that is also SS and weighs 60kgs, so the other two have to push up the hills. what gears should we run on the two 29ers? was thinking 32:16 i know its light for a road race but time is not the most important thing it is getting the beast up the hills. any help would be greatly appreciated
Iron Posted November 9, 2011 Share I will be doing it on a SS too. 26" and running 33 /15 or 33/14 . currently run the 33/15 for commuting and the odd mtb race and works well. will also be using std mtb tires ( race kings )

Kona Kula Posted November 9, 2011 Share The flats and downs will be fine but you gonna *** on the hills.I figured that, but there aren't really that many hills. I know about the rolling hills of the N14 and the reasonable hill towards Kyalami. But even those are not too big, and certainly not long. Anyways I will report back if I bit off way more than I could chew.

Thumper Posted November 9, 2011 Share we cant the deal is we gotta ride SS support only.Renegotiate the deal! The three of you would be fine but remember its a 4 man team pushing that icecream truck. You'll battle to find 2 other guys who can keep the momentun need for a SS up the hills.
