I'd like the idea of a declaration now - putting the well-done pommies under siege by the steyn remover...

that might be difficult...

600 up - i fear that the proteas has been judged harshly prior to the start of their innings.

A declaration now will show some balls...

Hash had to give Bavuma the chance of getting to 100. Lets see what happens now.

Freaking awesome moment......

I am sitting with rather loony looking grin on my face! So pleased for Bavuma getting us to within 2 of England and making their bowlers sweat some more under the hot sun! Great back up from Morris as well.

Lovely to see our spine hadn't disappeared entirely and that we've gotten it back!

Now talk about boring... 90 minutes and often not a goal to show for it. The most action in that game are grown men running around grabbing their shins every time an opponent gets near them.

The (often inter-racial) hugging and kissing is nice though.

Lately my interwebs is full of this type of thing.

Im glad the batters found some runs.. But we should not read too much out of it.. Come Wanderers it will be a little more green and the Bowlers should get some seam and swing.. That will be a more of a test than batting on an absolute road. Unless Chris Scott decides to prepare a 438 game wicket

If England held their 9 dropped catches it would have seemed less of a "road". Our discipline combined with England's horrendous catching were bigger factors than a very good batting strip.

Was at Newlands yesterday. Great day to watch cricket - even though it was "slow" going, much excitement seeing Amla getting his double, and then young Bavuma playing  some splendid shots to bring up his maiden century.

I had to consume much beer to stay cool, so I found the crowd antics hilarious - group of around 20-30 young SA guys taunting the Barmy Army all day was fantastic. "Where are your lions?" "You're so pink its unbelievable" etc. etc.
