I don't like my Olympics that much, I wished I had rather sent R200 more for a pair of Specialized shoes, especially if you are not a beginner/firsttime buyer

I was about to make the same recommendation :)

I also have a pair of those olympic shoes, the glue holding the toes together is coming lose (After 7 months worth of use) I'm also looking for new shoes (If the whole bonus thing goes down...).

I've got a pair of Louis Garneau that I've used since 2007 - which I reckon is pretty damn awesome.

They are a bit loose on the heel now (leather stretched maybe?) but otherwise they are still 100%. And this includes walking most of day 2 sani2c this year. Or so it felt.

I'd buy them again without hesitation - except I'm going to see if I can find some Spec shoes in my budget (< R1k).

For a beginner on a budget: Mr Price Sports Maxed. Got mine a couple of months ago and I did the 94.7 with them. I did have to go a size bigger though just to get a bit more space.

I had those Shimano M076 shoes, used to become unbearable as ever after a ride, think they're made for people with narrower feet.

Anyways I managed to order a set of Mavic Razors from the UK for around R900 and haven't looked back since, they're great. I think they retail here for around R1400

ive got a pair of the olympic shoes. not bad at all. bought them around march this year, and still strong. the only thing that gets me a little is that after 2 hrs my toes start tingling a little, and the shoe is difficult to change the pressure/tightness on the foot. but a decent shoe if u ask me.

Can anyone else confirm or deny this? Are the Mr Price specials decent enough on a budget or can better be found for similar prices? Also this would be for mountain biking not road riding.
