I bought my GT on Monday and left the same night for Durban ... did not even get on once :(. Added to that unnatural state of affairs, the bike does not fit on my Thule rack. It's the one that fits on the Prado's spare tire; two bike carrier.

This is quite a sad state of affairs, as I return to Jo'burg on Friday and leave for Ctn on Wednesday. I would of course like to take the GT along. What to do? Can probably put my bike on the roof-rack? Did not really want to spend more money on racks just before Christmas.

Good advice, but I have the two kids and the two dogs as well. But if I leave the wife at home, they would have a place to stay too ... starting to like the idea even more.

I always try to drop the kids off before a long drive.

Firstly congrats on the bike, I also had a GT, with the same rack. Clamp the first clamp just before the triple triangle and the second clamp just before where the bottom tube joins the steerer tube on the bottom tube, hope you understand.

So the bike is hanging with its nose in the air? Thanks Mackie, I'll give it a try.
