  1. http://quitsmoking.about.com/ For some reason, maybe because I like forums, this helped me a lot. Try it, it's free.
  2. Guys, one blood pressure measurement means very little. You need to look at patterns rather than readings to get a good indication of what is happening.
  3. Yes, you have to sign a declaration that you have not smoked for a year. Makes a huge difference on life insurance. I'm saving R2000 p/m on not buying smokes and insurance alone.
  4. No, that's: "Who are you going to call?"
  5. My LBS has one in stock but it is not less than R3000. I think it was quite a lot more to be honest. But if all else fails and you are giving up on the price, try Westdene cycles.
  6. I sometimes forget I’m in the car and wave at cyclists going by. You should see the look of astonishment on their faces . "Fatsmoker in a Prado waving at me … WTF … he’s going to drive over me at the next robot!!!"
  7. Now there you go. You have obviously been in a proper war. And know that's the only way to get priorities in order. Idiot.
  8. Two things make my 29" GT unique: 1. It's mine 2. It's paid for Other bikes pale in comparison.

    Rugby...

At least they'll be pretty in pink
  10. Only way he knew and still stood there is: 1. He is an idiot 2. The camerman is holding a .50 Browning too. 3. Both
  11. Indemnity form is seldom worth the paper it's written on. If you are negligent in any way the court (if something goes that far) will chuck the form and hold you accountable. Make sure you are properly insured.
  12. I used them cleats and clipless pedals for the first time on Wednesday. I'm not stable on a bike anyway. My nine-year-old daughter had a great day. It's a long story. Maybe these cleats would have worked better.
  13. Westdene Cycles. I have bought two bicycles from them (and various other things) and the service has always been great.
  14. Did just that and found the chafe marks on the other bike. My own stupidity ... hopefully the damage is not too expensive to repair. Thanks for all the help, now I just need to apologise to the LBS.
  15. Don't see marks on the second bike, but that probably does not exclude the possibility.
  16. That's the way I'm leaning too Headshot.
  17. I had two bikes on a Thule bike holder and did more than 4000km with them (on the back of the car) this December and January. On Tuesday I take the GT to the LBS for a service and I ask them to replace the pedals. They phone me this morning and say they are still not done, can I just come in a bit later? So I do; I take the bike and I drive home. Only to find this: I mean WTF? I'm normally quite observant and spot the smallest scratch on my car when my wife dings it. So I phone the LBS and they say bring it in, they'll fix it. My only concern is that I may have caused the damage myself. Does this look like something that can happen in a workshop?
  18. "Harmse did not lay charges with the police." And will probably complain when the police do nothing.
  19. I think I could have made 50 against Sri Lanka today.
  20. I bought the GT Karakoram 3.0 for a bit less than R5.5k? At Westdene cycles. Phone them and ask them to order you one ... my XL took about three days to deliver. Bike's OK ... I don't like the pedals or the shifters ... but it got me moving again. Paid R4.5k at the end of November.
  21. Thank you Mackie, it works.
  22. That's just great. Enjoy ... mine was that age some time ago ... sometimes you wish to do it all over again and then you realise that they are now actually sleeping through and wiping their own bums.
  23. Is the stem not too close to the top tube? The Thule "rest" is at least 50mm.
