Think I'll just use next year as a base year for longer stuff, then hammer it in 2013 for the shorter races for league and nationals,so, looks like I have some 5hr days coming up

Could work - or you could just fill your legs with dread at what's coming on race day Vissershoek looks like just another hill when you swing off the N7 and approach it, it's only when you get onto it you realise how steep the gradient is.
