I didn't think GM were going to import this, but I saw it at Reeds N1 City on Friday and they are punting it directly at cyclists. It's pretty cool and the quality is superb.

Apparently it retails for about R10k which is pricey, but then you don't need a  tow bar and you always have a bike rack with you which is really handy for when you visit the LBS and 'need' to impulse buy that new bike.

The lights pack away neatly in the slide out tray.

The wheels rest on the rack like with a Thule, and the bike cranks slot into the uprights you can see sticking up.

My wife is looking at getting one of those new Corsas and we had a look that option, very nice, but to add R10k for a bike rack is just too much!!

If it was an aftermarket manufacturer, they would supply it at R2-3k and still make a nice profit.

Its the same as the towbars - while OEM towbars are often very well made peices of equipment, many folks often buy aftermarket units, because they are R1k instead of R4-5k

Great Idea, I was almost going to look at the Corsa (for the wife) but at 10K for the rack - they must be dreaming. rather buy a Thule that you can put on another car. I dont think you will get your money back for the Rack, its not going to add to the second hand value of the car.

I also think you loose the spare wheel with this.

you do lose the spare wheel. I think it is a fancy gimmick. Rsather buy a pimp thule. can fit more bikes onto the rack, and use it on all your other cars

I suppose with a bike on the rack you dont need a spare wheel.LOL

For R10K it's not anymore expensive than a Tow bar with factory approved wiring loom and a Thule rack.

Ya the aftermarket tow bars are cool but most void your warranty. After dropping R200+K on a car why would you want to do that.

It's nice option this Corsa jobbie...
