Uniondale Karavaanpark: Tent of karavaan staanplekke, in die karavaanpark sowel as op die skougronde. R80 per tent/karavaan vir 2 persone. Daar is skoon ablusiegeriewe. Bespreek by Liezl Tel 044 7521 266

With the K2C entries open. I want to organise everything well in advance as last year we battled to get accommodation.

 

So what we thought of doing this year is this:

 

On our way we stop at Uniondale and register

then... we sleep in Knysna

then ... we go to the start by shuttle the next morning

and then we stay the night in Knysna.

and come home on the Monday.

 

First of all ..... any comments . What is the pro's and con's of doing it this way?

 

And secondly can someone refer us to a place to stay that is reasonable, but near to the finish?

Quite funny, me and my dad are doing the exact same thing. Except we sleeping at the high school in tents before the race.

All my plans changed. So in the end we sleep in the church hall and someone will come from George to fetch the vehicle the next day and wait for us in Knysna.

 

That will be a first for me. O wait .... I did that many moons ago on some or other camp on school. I am sure I am not going to sleep much. ..But I have read somewhere is is the few nights before that that counts.

 

Edit : Last year we slept on a farm somewhere out of town. and I also did not sleep because of the nerves. So no difference.

I have 3 tents booked in Uniondale if anyone interested, I paid R200 each and would just like to get what I paid if possible, otherwise if someone wants all 3 they can have them for R500.

My plans have change.. Drive down to Uniondale on Saterday. Reg, drive to Knysna, setup tent at Lake Brenton ( Brenton on lake)

 

Do prep Saterday eve, leave to Uniondale Sunday morning early.

 

Do Race, cycle to camp if cant get lift to fetch car. Sleep, next morning take cycle back to Uniondale to get car.

so accomodation is sorted, but the logistics is a bit of a nightmare. Either I take a driver with me and he sleeps @ ng church with us, or I need to find someone to bring my car back from uniondale to knysna

i stayed at the hostel, it was clean. the breakfast was very good, one of the reasons i finished. i then stayed in george as it was cheaper
