Found this wine over the weekend, had to buy all varieties due to the bicycle on it, love their declaration of passion towards the environment based on the simplicity of the bicycle.

LOVE IT!!!!

Quoting their website:

"Our bicycle symbolizes our strong and passionate commitment to the environment when making top quality wines. That’s why amongst the lush vines, lots of bicycles can be found, resting against walls and propped up on the end of rows of vines. It’s the way our workers move around the vineyards every day, in order to protect the land they they work on. Relaxed, taking their time, enjoying the journey: sometimes returning to bicycle basics is all we need.

I know now that I'm a Bicycle lover!!!

They are selling it at Checkers, under their international wine selections, normally the wine from Chile = deeeelicious!!! He He pity they don't bring in the Pinot Noir, their cousins from the cellar of the devil makes a nice one!!!

Interesting website was on it this morning, will try some tonight and let you know!!

I was interested until you mentioned Chile.

All my wines at home are from the wine farms that have trails i.e Welvanpas (very nice red and white at cheap prices), Oakvalley etc.

Ratty do you have any idea how far a East Rander has to travel to get to a wine farm, and I cannot go without my recovery drink!!!

They do a very decent Pinot Noir, I was sure I saw it in the Checkers at Rondebosh...

Actually found this stuff when I was over in the UK a few years back and got a great write up in a wine mag on the plane. Was super surprised as it came in under £5 over there.

Going back to check tomorrow!

Just came back from Checkers and they do stock the Pinot (not pinotage) for R49. Sure it's not going to be like an NZ pinot but you're paying about R250 less for a bottle!

Drinking chilean wine is like buying chinese.Stay clear

That's the kind of thing the french and others used to say about South African, Aussi and kiwi wines. And to be sure I've had a fair few bottles here that were very, very average and an awful lot of stunners. On the flip side I've had a great wines from Chile, Argentina and the US... and decent champagne from Kent.

Actually I've tried wine from China, Vietnam and Tunisia and I'm not sure they are really cut out for the trade!

Well, R50 for 750ml of bike cleaner - not bad!
