Good grief, why not just chuck in some clen while you're at it? Real science increasingly shows that supplements are at best neutral (i.e. do nothing) with loads of them proven to cause harm. If you eat a balanced diet you will get everything you need.

1 X multi vit (Centrum)

2 X antioxidant (Pro-oxidin - grape seed extract)

2 X immune booster (Moducare)

glutamine after hard sessions/long events

As a Type 1 diabetic I err on the side of too much, rather than too little supplementation.

My wife used to be a registered dietician and says the same thing. Problem is "if", and with today's modern food production (i.e. food processing) and commercial agricultural techniques (hormones, steroids, etc), I honestly believe that a lot of food we consume is stripped of it's nutritional value even though it presents itself as "a balanced diet". Food for thought - pun intended.

I'll stick my head out and say that food preparation (peeling, cooking, etc) strips more nutrients... Supplements, and the wild claims by their peddlers are not regulated in RSA, so you actually have no idea what you are supplementing with. I'll be more worried about hormones, steroids, etc in supplements than what is in UNPROCESSED food.

I only just started popping pills - multi vit, mag and omega. My calves were giving me a lot of problems. I kept having muscle spasm cramps in both legs. It was almost becoming a daily thing and they hurt like a BITCH! About two months ago, i just arrived at home and both legs just cramped out...i was barely inside and i collapsed. The attack lasted an hour or so...now days i can feel when my calves want to play up. It gives off a lil twitch. Haven’t had bad cramps since i started taking vits.

Natural you say ? :whistling: Does it list whats in it ?

Hahaha, well if there is a lil ''something...something...'' then must be mild cause i don't feel a thing on it. No shakey hands, extra sweating etc

Fair comments. But unprocessed food ought to be fresh (and I don't mean an unbroken cold chain from producer to retailer) and ideally organic. Very few of us have access to this and it's expensive if and when you can get hold of it. And yes, our modern lifestyles mean little time preparing food properly (I might be mistaken, but even microwave ovens destroy nutrients). I say supplement, especially an anti-oxidant and immune booster.

True, unprocessed is like pie in the sky for most of us, like a 2:40 / 3:00 / 4:00 Argus. Something to work towards tough!

Yep, cooking destroys nutrients, but again it makes a lot of food edible.

This whole world is a damned if you do, damned if you don't place, so 'pick your spot and take your chances'!

you know an awful lot about the side effects ! in all seriousness if it helps you then hey who am I to judge, I just worry when people take handfuls of supplements without knowing the side effects, even so called natural supps have side effects each person's body reacts differently.

Also, some supplements work against each other. Then you have to start taking some in the morning, others in the evening, and some together. Logistical nightmare :(

Easier to try and cover all the veggie colours every day!

i don't pop my pills all at once...i space them out during the day...i also heard some work against each other...so it is a bit of a nightmare...i'm still kicking :)

I try eat right and every 3 hours. oats and whey...nuts and fruit...tuna and veggie/salad wrap...yogurt and try sneak in another fruit...training...whey...dinner...

I have tried a few fat burners...USN Hardcore and this other pepper one that heats up your body.

USA Hardcore gave me the burps but to me it was minty burps, but my one male friend said, ‘‘I can just smell tuna on you''. So i stopped taking them, I didn’t want them to start calling me ‘’fishy’’.

Wheee (as in yellow wee) how much does that cost / month £$R?

Been there and done that but nowadays I follow a much simpler supplement popping regime:

1 x multi vit every 2nd or 3rd day with breakfast.

1 x Calcium / Vit D at every dinner time when eating at home.

1 x CHO

During hard training (rare)

Will sometimes add a scoop of chocolate whey protein powder to my breakfast muesli and quaff a low fat chocolate milk drink after exercise.

Berocca makes it glow.

Hmmmm, haven’t worked out the cost yet…some stuff last longer than a month like my evox whey, primrose oil, multi vit…

Slow mag so pricey and not even a month supply!!!!
