What’s your supplement stack?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else using Chia seeds on a daily basis? Mix them up with some scrambled egg and bits o' bacon and feel those chest hairs grow*. If you have a lot of chest hair already it will grow on your shoulders and back.

*Not recommended for the ladies.

I found a great recipe for a mixed berry shake

1 x cup mixed frozen berries (I normally use the woolies one)

1 x cup cranberry juice

Add protein powder enough to make 250ml (Use vanilla or strawberry) Or use some glutamine powder in the mix If you choose to leave this step out use some low fat yogurt to thiken it up)

1 x teaspoon olive oil

Mix in blender and Enjoy !

This shake is high in antioxidant's, helps with muscle growth and recovery.

I used to make something similar to this but without the olive oil.

I enjoy smoothies with peanut butter. Mmmmmmmmmm, but I avoid them. L

Off topic: old ex of mine used to make smoothies with protein and I trusted him. Well turns out he was feeding me ‘’USN rapid weight gain’’. I nearly died!

Problem is you never train, bwahahahaha ;)

Do you have any money left to buy food??

 Yip! Should have been nr 1 on the list. It ranges from R700 to about R1500/month for the sups so its not bad at all. I eat ALLOT! I don't believe it will make me a better sportsmen. I am way pass pipe dreams! This is also not my supplement stack year round. Most part of the year it is only a multi vit/omega 3 and extra vit C. The whey protein i use to supplement my protein intake. One can only eat so many chicken breasts :)

Last week sat I had a small bowl of future life just before my 90min spin session. Never again! I was dying, felt so ill. Someone mentioned about being too heavy on the stomach and my word, they were right. Will stick to having an empty stomach when I do cardio in the mornings.

Banging iron seems to be a high intensity activity, and driven purely on kilojoules?

4 - 6 evening primrose oil

1 x multi vit tab

2 x magnesium

2 x fat burner (this guy at gym starting up a natural range of products and asked me to try this fat burner out)

1 x evox 100% whey in my oats (1 scoop) and after training at night (3 scoops)

Berroca in the mornings

Looking at adding glutamine and need an energy booster.

Rather save the money you spend on the supplements and spend it on a set of lighter wheels (with the amount you buying it shouldn't take you too long). There are no trial (medical) evidence that any of the supplements you take will improve your health or performance, unless you have a proven (blood test) deficiency of a specific vitamin or mineral. As for "natural" fat burner: unless you consume the actual plant material there is nothing natural about it. I don't understand why an uncontrolled, untested substance of an unknown dose and purity can ever be considered superior to well researched medical drugs with known side-effects and efficacy.....

@Bronabee: How do you manage your training split between gym and cycling?

I’m battling at the moment…

I really don’t want to give up on my weight training. I’m trying to develop my upper body – arms and back. I’d love to have a nice toned back.

I gave up weight training two weeks before Midmar Mile and then I got sick after Midmar for almost two weeks and when I went back to gym….wow, I lost a lot of strength.

I need to sort out my routine and train two body parts.

I have a feeling i'm going to suffer a lot at Tour Durban! :S
