An unlucky MTBer nearly got run over by a speeding construction car on the CWC MTB track today. He was coming down the blind drop (marked with red X) when the car was suddenly in front of him. Was too late to snap a picture of this.

CWC Staff: Can you please look into this. The problem is due to a construction site at Tyger Falls, but instead of trucks and cars using the dirt road (marked with green arrow) they take a shortcut over the grass area (marked with maroon arrow). Can some poles or blockades be put at the purple lines to prevent the vehicles from taking the shortcut and endangering the cyclists. You can clearly see the speeding truck taking the shortcut on the second photo.

Did you go to CWC to report this?, seeing that you were right there and able to take the pics you posted.

Not flaming you, just thought it would have been better (and faster) to report your concerns to either Snr or Jnr in person. Then you knew that the right person has been informed, and not just hoping he reads about it on a public forum.

Alternatively, phone them.

Did send a PM to the CWC staff. Just wanted to warn other forum members to be careful until the problem has been resolved.

Hi everybody.

Thank you for the warning. We are aware of the trucks and I did had a chat to the construction company who promised me that he will inform the drivers to be careful. Unfortunately they must use that piece of the road due to the problem with the building works.

Please inform as much as possible cyclist about this . Cyclists please be aware as well. Thank you all and we wish you a safe ride.

Regards
