Point is it is about good practise, funny how Shimano puts indicators on the shifters of cheaper bikes to educate people on shifting to help eliminate cross shifting. Cross shifting is not good for your drivetrain and everybody knows that

Cost them BILLIONS.... to design indicators...

Wonder how many BILLIONS it will cost them to design a paragraph in the user manual to explain that it's not good for you gruppo to cross shift...

Or maybe [they] expect the chain manufacturers to put it in their pamphlet....

Or maybe [they] dont want us to know....

Now CROSS DRESSING is an entirely different subject... but I guess the fashion industry spends at least BILLIONS in designing, research and development to adress this specific issue... and I am not sure clothing labels specify against the practice of cross-dressing, my clothes only prescribe washing and ironing instructions....

Right, slick and JB, post a pic of where it says you must not run the chain on the big ring and the lowest ration sprocket at the rear in the Campag manual?

Hey TNT, I have something for you :whistling: post-26136-0-19464200-1334649221.jpg

All theoretical. I've had the Le Turbo since 1985, cross-changed to my heart's content, and still have my original chainring, cluster, and chain. Treat your derailleurs politely and everything should last till the nurse at the old-age home says you shouldn't ride anymore.

Ja... You not really crossing your chain at any sort of angle when you only have 5 speed at the back. :P

They don't make them like they used to but then again how much does it weigh...?
