advice needed on shocks

Hi my rear shock does not seem to be working and i don't know why

please can you advise me on my problem

I've include a pic of the bike and a close up of the shock

That looks like a Raleigh M-Trax. Still got one hanging in my shed (was the bike I started cycling "seriously" with in 2001 :blush: :D ) Quickly upgraded to a Hansom that was a size or two too big.

It looks like you have the lock-out engaged?

sorry me noob..

how does one 'disengaged said lock-out'

You would have to buy a shock to disengage said lockout, that bar "stiffener" is put inplace when shock is removed to keep rear wheel in correct position.

Those Chainese rip-off Lock Shox are a problem. Try a bit of Squirt on the pivot points. That stuff apparently cures anything from the clap to dandruff.

take 2 of the bolts out, and remove your shock, replace it with a spring from a motorbike..then you should be good to go

Q20, fixes everything.

Ummm... when did the 'shock' stop working?

 

no exactly sure.. just noticed this morning, that its not working

 

whats more interesting is that i can see the v-brake on the front but not on the back

 

its for aerodynamics... makes me go faster having no back brake
