Companies that pay for banners etc are allowed to ply their wares in the forums and the classifieds are reserved for private sellers. I like that, its not your typical spam ridden site. Why does the OP bypass the system that has been put in place for others. Just because it is cycling related and not viagra or mobile phones? I agree with you to a degree but let the guy get his business of the ground, once he's generating revenue I'm sure he'll buy some ad space on thehub and follow the correct channels, if not then sure, he's taking a bit of a gap. There are tons of bike stores advertising through forum posts on thehub and have done so for a long time, its not always practical to have an animated advertisment on a site, sometimes you need to advertise through posts because it just wouldnt make sense otherwise. Lots of Magicshine lights, end of life products, great bicycle deals etc... are being advertised through posts and I'm pretty sure a lot of them would go unoticed if they were only advertised through banners and not posts? in which case both the seller and potential buyer loses out. Thehub is great with tons of good advise and some good deals, I believe there's a good balance on the site at the moment, let the bigger distributors buy the banners and give the smaller guys the platform to become big and then buy the banners.
