Hole in fancy pant

mooky

Recommended Posts

I did some oooogling.. but didnt really find anything useful!

Hopefully my faithful hubbers can assist here...

I have 2 tiny little holes in my new fancy louis garneau cycling pant (if you've seen the picture (somewhere on the hub) of the mtb fall I had where my chainring manhandled my ass, you'll know what its from)...

Anyway... so how do I fix this?

Is it as simple as just stitching it up?

You can patch it, but it might look a bit k#k

the holes are tiny tho? like 3mm in diameter max

We need a pic of the hole , preferably with you in the pant this we can give the best advice .

only kidding ,

if it's a small hole it can be stitched otherwise a patch , but as said it will not look too good .

Or if they not in a bad place ( the middle of your butt ) but on the leg , just leave them . it show you mean bussiness on your bike .

I've got your solution.

I bought a nice pair of bibs and promptly got about a 5mm round hole in them when they hung up on something in the garage.

So, take a sacrificial t-shirt that is about the same color as what you're fixing and cut a piece out of it that is the size of the hole plus about 50% for a patch. On the inside of the lycra clothing, put the patch over the hole and then apply Goop glue over the entire thing. You'll should end up with a 'Goop' patch about twice the size of the original hole and 50% bigger than the patch. Let it dry for a day or 2 and then wear/wash as usual. The ugly part is on the inside and you have to look very close to see anything unusual.

If you can stitch ma'am, then consider that a feather in your cap lid!

Most ladies I know can't.

Turn them inside out, sew the holes such. Simple. Just make sure you use a lycra needle in your machine. When you turn them the right side out, you'll hardly notice anything.
