And released on R500 bail! For a murder accused?

 

Just R500? that's less than the one plastic bag full of groceries I bought from Woollies just now. Sad.

Not that I am one for prejudging people & events but I sincerely hope that this has a positive outcome in that it leads to better safety, not just for cyclist, on our roads.

That sounds about right yes. If there is little chance that he will flee or if he has no criminal record, R500 bail is fine. He is still going to charged with murder. The factors on which bail is decided is a lot more that just the main charge, ex home, family, work, flee possibillities etc.

Oh, I know that, but somehow it still makes me sad. (But not as sad as for the young life that was ended.)
