  1. First off - I only read the first 2 pages, and skipped right here to add my 2 cents. I have been away from this forum for a few years (got busy), and came back here to sell a used Spez DS 26" that is not being used anymore, and then someone makes this thread. Not cool 😜 *Any way, as with most people I need some cash, so if someone wants a 26" dual susp with 140mm travel, go check the classified 😉

    Dopers suck

Yeah no, agree with Squire here. It is very much black and white: Banned substances - banned for EVERYONE Rules regarding bikes and gear used - same for EVERYONE The rest is legal and available to EVERYONE - supplements, nutrition, gear, etc.. This is how the playing field is even. Every now and then the regulatory bodies catch up with science and research, and then either ban something new, or un-ban (if this is a word?) something that was on the banned substances list; but while something is on that WADA list it is very simple - don't use it. The debate on whether it SHOULD be as above is a longer one, but this is the way it is...for now.

    Dopers suck

Not worried myself. Just saying it's like running a race against someone that made his prosthetic leg longer than yours

    Dopers suck

But that's the thing, it's not. The dopers are taking career and sponsorship opportunities away from the clean riders. (not talking about me... but can just imagine how tough it must be to see the doper getting the prize money, sponsors, national colours etc)
  5. Condolences to Kevin and his sons. RIP Tumbleweed.
  6. Healing vibes to TW! Never met in person, but you get to know personalities over the years - someone who cares about people and animals (which says a lot about a person), and someone who doesn't give up. Keep fighting bud.
  7. Getting a new commuter within the next week or so - can start the challenge then without worrying about wear n tear on the mtb. Will be joining more beer fridays soon Hairy
  8. A friend is looking for a tandem entry. Anyone here know of anyone looking to get rid of one, please pm me
  9. Managed a 5h40 on my first K2C - it was harder that I thought it was going to be. Yoh, that last climb at the 8km to go mark got to my legs.
  10. Got entries. Decided not to do the ride anymore. That's 2 more entries becoming available after 1pm tomorrow
  11. You will have an unfair advantage over us that trained at low altitude
  12. Ok. Read the first page and now the last one before making this comment. How long did this fred stay on track for?
  13. Mr Roberts, the people heard (saw) you the first time. What you do now is go post an add in classifieds and wait.
  14. I know that's your rule, but I've been here 6 years. I'm sure you'll buy n lekker deal from me if one comes along. EDIT: Kyk nou net daar!. I've crossed the 900 mark. Getting there.
  15. Welcome dethklok. I see your puncture issue is sorted, but if you haven't yet, first thing to do on mountain imo is to get it converted to a tubeless setup...
  16. The community feeling that a lot of hubbers have toward each other is the difference. Sure, not all - a big portion is here just for the classifieds. But, some hubbers will put something up here for a good deal rather than selling it for a little more on gumtree because of that community (safety/secure) feeling of selling to people who you have interacted with in the past (or have read their posts, almost getting to know certain personality traits etc).
  17. That's broken closer to 10%. OP's was broken at 40%.
  18. Not sure I understand. It was 40% broken, but 100%... what does that mean. You mean that you could still ride but it would give way completely at any time; because it's either broken or not. Not sure how you would measure something being 40% broken...

    Trans Baviaans 2016

Nonsens man. No smooth mostly. Will go a bit faster down the mountain with a full sus. But there's always some people even doing it on a rigid fork.
  20. Apples vs bananas. A bit more money, complications, electronics and mechanics etc involved in a car... And as Rouxtie said above. Re the bold part, was still talking about me personally though. I do my research and have been cycling for a while, so can generally see of something's stuffed or not...
  21. Get your point, but it sort of defeats the purpose of coming and either sell your goods at a good price because you know someone can use it better than you ie spare parts lying around, an old bike that's been gathering dust but could be used as a commuter by a person with very limited budget etc; or hard working people looking for a good deal just to be beaten by a person sitting on the hub all day just to buy stuff cheap and sell at higher price. I do get it that it's a business or whatever, but if you're not going to restore a bike, don't be a douche and just buy a fork for example just to literally put it up for R500 more tomorrow. I don't really care if it's right or wrong... it's a dick move, and I will personally choose not to buy from such a re-seller. I will even choose not to sell to such a person if I am aware that it's their way of operating. What I'm saying is I don't care if they keep doing it or not - I just like to know who they are so that I can avoid them...
  22. Nice. Anyone been to the This Way Out shop in CT cbd? Damn nice looking bikes... I sometimes just walk past the shop even if it's out of my way to look at the pretty bikes I can't afford yet.
  23. Please name (even if by PM). I am definitely not interested in buying from one of them accidentally...
