Hey guys

 

So I assume a lot of you people buy the MBUK (mountain biking uk) magazine. What do you guys think about it? And do you think local magazines stack up to it?

 

For those who don't know it, I'd seriously recommend it. You can get it at CNA or any good book store for R99.95

Or, if you have one, get the iPad edition for about ZAR50, or 13 issues for around ZAR330 - great way to buy an excellent mag...

Get quite a few mags on my iPad. Nice to have quite a bit of reading conveniently stored in one device but its still not quite like picking up a paper mag.

I also preferer the feel of a proper magazine. iPad is great but not for reading a magazine.

ok, ok... I know this may revive the heated battle dealt with in other threads...

 

but has anyone ever noticed that MBUK never (as far as I've seen) has a lycra clad weight weenie on the cover?

 

Again... I don't mean to stir up old poop... but it's just something I've noticed, and it's maybe an indication of where the UK's MTB focus is?! And maybe that's what attracts us to this mag, and twists our arm into paying 100 ZA Ronds.

 

That said, the local mags (particularly Tread) have been upping their game in terms of broadening the Saffer MTB culture.

(Ride is pretty awesome too... but only becasue they had a pic of me in last month's edition, haha)
