Well, I am not too sure what the Genius is like, but we use the i-Magic and it is well worth the investment. Not just during winter.

Awesome toy, not using it myself but I have played around with it a bit.

 

Upload courses of just about any race imaginable, the Argus, TDF, Giro, one day Classics, ride with pro teams, train with the Schlecks ... the list goes on and on.

 

Interactive steering, automatic incline tension adjustment, play online against buddies etc.

 

If virtual toys is your thing, then this is absolutely amazing ... or you can put on your rain booties and ride with the real men outside.

Also though bout it, just a bit rich for my budget, but a nice unit, with a screen, running a profile from a laptop, like go ride a session, like Thaba, and then go home and ride it again and again.

yes its the best investment ive made (i have older model fortuis) you need to budget for a meaty PC too so quite an outlay but will give you happy riding hours for years if you have to the cash go for it

I was thinking of my laptop (i7 quad core with 8GB RAM), it's a pretty good monster itself, tied to a big 21inch LCD screen.

For v4 software this is the minimum system spec:

Processor P4, Double core 2.5 Ghz, Memory 4GB DDRIII, Free disk space, 2 GB, Graphics cardDirect X9 compatible 3D card with 1 GB of memory. Brand: ATI or Nvidia, Resolution minimum 1280 x 720, Sound card DirectSound compatible, Various 1 free USB port, DVD player, Operating System Windows 7 (64-bit)

 

The "meatier" the PC the less hasle you'll have. A dual core 3.0 Ghz PC running XP just about drives the software, as always, the greater the RAM, the better. Single core P4 will not work.

I can do this as a Virtual box VM on my laptop

 

now I just need to rob the bank and get the trainer, in the mean time, it will have to be the real thing, out in the dust, in the cold.

Alternatively, if you don't mind plugging a USB cord into your PC/Laptop get the fortius or iMagic but avoid the Cosmos and buy the v3 or v4 software. All the same things on the screen and 99% of the accuracy in training at half or less the price.

 

There have been 3 or 4 units for sale over the past few months here on the hub.

 

The only issue with the fortius that pisses guys off is the noisy wheel but there is a simple fix for that. PM me if you need help.

 

edit: reason cosmos no good is it doesn't work with PC unless you buy a new head unit for 200 euros
