@Tumbleweed

Thanks for the Website. It seems interesting but in my opinion I dont really like this Tourist Tours where you also can speak german :-). I want to go to a new country to see their own culture. Even if you have electricity :-).

@Crow

Thanks for the two Tour-Tips. For me the second Tour seems exactly that what i am looking for this 3 weeks. Tours around 50km and 2000 metres ascent. Of course I can spend some days in this 3 weeks with the special things you advised (like Elephant riding :-)) or sightseeing but at most I want to see the nature with my two wheels. The problem is I like to do the Tour without to see every 5 minutes on the Map. That is why I ask you guys. If you anyway like to bike and need a training so you could come with me. Its a Win-Win Situation, isnt it? I see the Tour without a map in my hands and you have training with someone who pays a meal/coffee or thngs we need.

We Mountainbiker all love coffee, dont we? :-)

Hehe a friend already sent me the video with the Biker who was attacked. It hurts even looking at the Video. We only have cows whisch until now never attacked me. But they are big too :-). Now I am scared. But i still love Milk.

@SwissVan

I saw on the map from Capetown to Plettenberg is near the coast right? But I would suggest that the mountains arent usual near the coast? Or am I wrong? I am from Chur in Switzerland. I dont know if you know this city :-). In the South of Switzerland near the mountains.

There are some mountains quite close to the sea, but those that are more inland are not that far away.

I live in Zug but dont travel much in Chur's direction and have only passed it by car on the highway or with the SBB

As another option if you really want to see the country.... try and do the Joburg2C stage race, starts near Johannesburg and finishes on the KwaZulu Natal south coast. Only problem might be getting an entry and the time of year (April / May) does not match your criteria...

Or maybe Wine2Wales in November

They used to list the prices. I did the Bots one some years back, and I seem to recall it being about R4K. I think Kranswurm has been more recently…

I think its about 6K each

I better find out as Greg is sponsoring a lucky draw prize for a Cycle Mashatu trip for 2 at our Kalahari Challenge next month :blush:

I think I am going to organise another trip there for my family an friends

I wouldn't go further than Plet. Ride Harkerville (http://www.easternca...ute&route_id=33) and Petrus se Brand http://www.mtbiker.c...se-brand-knysna

Go bungy jump at Stormsrivier http://www.faceadrenalin.com/

Do a canopy tour of the Tsitsikama forest http://stormsriver.c...rden_route.html

Ride an Elephant http://www.knysnaelephantpark.co.za/

Go all Twilight and visit the Wolf Sanctuary http://www.wolfsa.or...t_sanctuary.htm

And do a Tsitsikama trail walk

When you're done there work your way back to CT by riding trails in Wilderness, Sedgefield and George. From Mossel Bay work your way inland and come through the Karoo all the way to the Mother City. Then the real riding starts...

You do know that you can ride your mtb to each hut on the Tsitsikamma Hiking Trail.They will transport your kit to the huts for you at a cost

I think I want to come to Capetown. Now I have to choose the different possibilities and decide if I want to move to the region of Durban.

Now a litte a more exactly question. Who in the Region of Capetown would be interested to ride a half or a whole day (from 28.1. to for example 8.2.) with a sporty uphiller from switzerland?

Meals or Coffee are of course on my Bill :-)

Hoi Salah

If you only have time for one part of SA then you wont regret going to the Cape, I would suggest making arrangements with fellow hubbers along the entire the garden route area from Plettenberg bay towards Capetown.

Whereabouts in Switz are u from

Tschüss ;)

I met with Salah when i was in Switzerland. He is an old friend of my girlfriends and seems like a good guy. Small world

Hey JGR nice to see you :-)

@Ratty that sounds really interesting. Hmm i have to think about that. That would mean I have to make my holidays from 11.2.-28.2. :-) This race is with a partner right? So if the friend is willing to come will decide. Are you going to the race too?

@Berg Bok thanks for the fast answer. What would be your idea to contact you?

Hey Salah,

If you come to Sun City please let me know.

A few humble trails here and nearby, but at least it is time to see new places!

Chat soon.

Ralph Naef stays in Stellenbosch, so you should also stay here. ;)

Plenty of trails around and much much more if you go 1hour max per car. (Grabouw, Tokai etc)
