have no idea if this is the one you referring to but there is a thread on here about them

That's the one - used them twice before - Good quality and fast shipping and cheap

Yes, paid R78 at SAPO for a complete set

Really?!? Wow!

So around R500 for Specialized kit and then R70 duty! Sounds good. Or does it? What price would you pay here?

And would I look like an idiot riding specialized kit on my Silverback Phoenix? haha

How are the sizes...Did you take the same size that you normally wear? Also, how long did the shipping take (from purchase to collection)?

Yes its cheap- get 1 to 2 sizes bigger than normal

That's what the ladies usually say about me.....

I'm cheap and 1-or-2 sizes bigger than most.

Just be aware that duty of clothes is 45% and VAT is 14% so you could end up paying an extra 60% if customs do their job properly...

The question was asked above and the person who has used the services stated they paid around R70. Is the duties argument used by SA retailers to get the business? What is the chance of them charging you if one item arrives via post?

Not by retailers, it really depends what mood the customs agent is in. I have brought in stuff with no charge at all when it should have been charged and and the same type of product another time has incurred the full duty and vat charge.

It really is a bit of a lottery but I have found it to generally be worth taking the chance, I win more than I lose. But I don't cry when I do have to pay.

Well some times you are lucky and the duty is not added. Then you just pay 14% VAT and R30 post office handling fee. But if you do are unlucky and the custom clearance officer got his Coffey in that morning you will pay +45% duty and on that +14% VAT and R30 post office handling fee.

I few of my mates got very unlucky. CRC send them a shipment bud it was divided in to 3 consignments. Each consignments had the same invoice so they payed 3x the TAX. I think it was a around R5000 order and ended paying something like R715 x 3 = R2145. Post office handling fee at that stage was R15 and they could not convince the post office that there where a mistake. At the end they had to pay the full amount.
