A per Stan's the ZTR Podium's have been discontinued.

I think they were replaced by the ZTR Race Gold. My new mtb came out with a race gold set on. I had to replace it because i will destroy them in one ride. Sweeet hoops though!

Was reading on an international forum about them and some guy who knows people at Stan's says they are strictly for racing and would not stand the tortue of everyday riding at best they would last a year with regular use. Rider weight has to be adhered to.

When I left for Greece I was 59kg, I'm already up to 67kg and have 2 weeks left. What can I say I like the food. Going to need to lose it all when I get back.

How tall are you that you are complaining of 67kg?

Sounds about right. But that suits me fine, I have a pair of cheap Shimano's that I train with that weight around 2.1kg so with the race wheels on my bike just rockets. Gets it down to about 9.2kg all in.

I've used the Podiums at the 3 Towers and Magalies Adventure without issues, granted I am light and don't ride like Conrad Stoltz but they are solid for what they are.

Wow you guys are lite! 1.75m and 67kg odd is feather and 61.8kg with 10% bf is also great!

2 or 3 years back when i still went for tests and stuff at sports science in Newlands my ideal race weight was 68kg ( i am 1.77m tall). I am sitting at 77kg with 8% bodyfat so for me to get down to 68kg i will have to loose muscle which is a bit counter productive in my opinion

It's a nice thread and I don't want to pee over all your components, BUT if your race your bike there is a weight specification: "The minimum weight of the bicycle (in working order) shall be 6.800 kg, considered without on-board accessoriesin place, that is to say those items that may be removed during the event." (http://www.uci.ch/Modules/BUILTIN/getObject.asp?MenuId=&ObjTypeCode=FILE&type=FILE&id=NTI0MDY&LangId=1)

Therefore, anything lighter is cheating in the same vane as doping. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Found out i weigh 61.8kg with 10% Body fat. I'm not sure if its the optimal weight for cycling but its a lot cheaper to loose weight on the body than to Up grade the bike .

I'm also running at about 10% body fat, but I weigh 82kg! There's not something like optimal weight in cycling, because it depends on your build and length. You can probably lose more body fat without giving up power, because in pro cycling terms 10% is still on the higher end. Seems like you're cut out for being a climber. Go and compare riders like Pistol Pete with others like Spartacus and Gorilla.

My Salter says I'm at 65.2kg with 8.2% body fat. It's not so accurate but it's ballpark enough to track progress or regression in case of Christmas eating.

I'm aiming for around 63kg with 6% body fat at the end of my base training. Nothing scientific to it though, my optimal racing weight could be something else. I still need to finish reading the Racing Weight book...

Get your bodyfat measured by somebody who knows what they are doing with calipers. Those scales are pretty useless when it comes to that. My scale gives bf measurements differing by 3% day on day

Need a definition of BMI? Want to know how to work it out? You're actually a skinny runt with a BMI of 17.56! But as you know, light weight components are for small skininy guys

I dont think you understand BMI too clearly. Go work out the BMI of any bodybuilder with bodyfat of 6%. Then go and tell him he is fat. Heavy guys like lightweight parts as much as runts.
