Wow!! and I don't mean that in a good way - that was probably the most boring Opening I have seen for an Olympics game. Can't believe I stayed up to watch it especially with all the hype of it costing 37 million, but after an hour could not take anymore of it especially after the NHS part with the beds and all. Thank goodness for Mr Bean and Daniel Craig making it a bit more entertaining even just for a few minutes!

Hmm, I only watched bits and pieces, I liked the fireworks, they were excellent, but reading the newspapers it seems the world has hailed it an unqualified success.

However for a country threatening to fall into a triple dip recession one has to wonder at the cost and if it was worth it financially, figures of billion's of pounds are been tossed around as the total cost to the country, and although no one seems to know for sure, its an awefull lot of money to recoup over a few weeks of the Olympics.

Although money isnt everything I guess, and the feel good factor and national pride come into it as well, but, its still a lot of money in anyone's book and I think it may come back to haunt them.

I tried to watch it - cringed and winged with the bits I saw.

I felt it traded too much on cheesy all-to-well known pop icons of British culture, also over produced and a visual hotchpotch. Nice tunes here and there, that's about it.

Frigging waste of 37 million Squids.
