HI

What in everyone's opinion are the most comfortable cycling shorts ?

my ass is a bit bruised after the tour de krantz on saturday being only my 2nd race i'm not used to my saddle yet.

I bought a pair of padded cycling shorts from mr price sport but they didn't keep me comfortable for too long.

is there a particular brand that I should look out for ?

thanks

First Ascent should be the minimum. I actually only use them, and I'm very happy so far.But this is the price awareness option, so I wouldn't say it's the best. I'm more than happy and for about R500-R600 you won't go wrong in that price bracket.

So far I have spent:

R100 on some LBS bargain bin jobbies (my first pair)

R150 on some more LBS bargain bin jobbies

R400 on some First Ascent jobbies

Best so far...the sodding R100 bargain bin jobbies! But sadly they show some skin now!

I think be prepared to spend some money and try some different brands. Different shorts for different bums!

Currently I ride the R150 LBS specials (bib ones), they are Anatomic and not too bad, and seem to take the washing and wearing of a 5 day cycling week pretty well. Worst so far sadly has been the expensive First Ascent ones!

To be really really honest, I still needs to find a pair of shorts that don't re-locate the nads to where my ovaries should be!!!

I just can't get comfy in the friggin things.....Is there a trick I'm missing??
