I don't know what SBR is, but it sounds like a road ride (maybe a route in the South?) ...so if its a road training ride on Sunday, I would like to join please..

Keen to join on Sunday? See you there? R30 entrance to the reserve (R20 per car, R10 per adult or vice versa)

I knew about the humps ad I did a race there a week before. But there were water bottles all over the road. I lost one of mine. On some of the humps it was possible to go onto the other side of the road to miss the humps. Should the organizers be encouraging the riders to be riding against the oncoming traffic.

If you keep to the extreme left you can avoid some of them too.

Tough day, mate. Got gippo guts in the early hours and spent most of the night up. Got a late start. Had to return home to get the bag with my helmet and shoes in. I was about 10km from home in Fairland when I realized my mistake. I got going again at 705. GL was due to set off at 727. To add to the dog's breakfast, one of my bottles filled with Epic Pro soaked my bag, jersey, phone, pump, etc. After some kerazee driving got to the line as my group left. Time trialled most of the first 70km, averaging 35km/h. Then came the inevitable bonk. Did the last 23km in about an hour! Finished a little shy of sub-three. Riding so far down is an excellent training tactic which I heartily recommend ;-))

Eish. If I were you, I would have stayed in bed...

To try find a positive I would call my day "character building". My water bottle came 90% out of its rear bottle cage on one of those bumps... As it dangled precariously I tried to retrieve it but instead it somehow found its way first between the chain and the wheel and then fully in the wheel - cue a shudder followed by a lock up and me sliding along the tarmac at an unpleasant speed.

My mate ruined his race as well by stopping with me - in so doing we missed the b bunch who came by while I was still trying to get myself together and he then proceeded to drag me along for the next 20km or so until C caught us in the cradle. Then my real fun began! I found my rear shifting getting progressively worse until on that last short steep climb in the cradle the rear derailleur cable snapped altogether! So now I was stuck in the 11 tooth at the back! The rest of the ride was quite literally a grind (and at times a walk).

Anyway, all that said I came close to quitting - but glad I didn't. Limped home in about a 3.35
