funny enough not a drop in Edgemead. it came down in Koeberg Rd, Rugby and then again along Marine Drive past the lagoon. we turned early rode back to E'mead and were greeted by bone dry roads.

Beaut of a morning and not a breath of wind.

i am on a recovery week so my ride consisted of maintaining a good cadence and smooth pedal stroke throughout the lap. Steve & Nico kept me company and we still averaged ±38 kph on the flat straight section of Giel Basson and Plattekloof and concentrated on maintaining a 80-90 cadence on the 'hill' .

it wasn't a very intense ride for us but the other 5 riders in the faster group gave it horns in prep for the next league race.

on our last lap we noticed an old friend peeping over the Tygerberg hill. summer is on its way.

with the wind still making it very unpleasant to ride along the coast we went up to Parow North and rode the circuit there which made for a pleasant change.

we had a fabulous ride this morning. a little windy but it kept us honest. we split into 2 groups, 1 for those recovering from DC training and 1 for the speed freaks. we all regrouped at blowberg hill and we had returned to Edge by 6.30. 2 new young ladies joined for the 1st time. welcome. those traffic lights at dolphin beach take ages to change.

i expected the wind to pump so we opted for the Parow N circuit. there is a section of false flat which is a bugger. nice group of riders this a.m.

we had a superb training ride today..i aborted the fast group when we hit 47 kph going down Bos'dam rd and linked up with the more mature riders.

we rode thru and off and for the first time since we have been riding this route got mangled in with 3 taxis who were racing for passengers from Rugby to end of Koeberg road. it meant that we had to take evasive action every now and then, it wasn't so bad as they all indicated well in advance as well as hooted when they were cutting in. we managed to beat them to the P Eiland turn.

Myself & uncle George paced the group to Big Bay and then back to the Mead at a nice 35 kph. a good workout.
