Here we go: Racial Killing

By now I'm sure you've read the reports about the white laaitjie that went into a township and capped 3 blacks and wounded a few more. Now the news is crawling with reports that it was a racial killing, "stop racial killing" etc. This was probably the first time in as far back as my memory can go that I heard of a white dude, shooting to kill a black dude for no real reason. Now this is now apart from people throwing other people into lion cages etc. I mean "murder".

How many white people are gunned down daily, farmers, home owners attacked at their home etc, at least half a dozen or more killed daily, botched high-jackings etc. Where is the "racial" call then? Its not there, then its just a plain "killing", not a "racial killing".

How fair is that? Angry

Azonic, the "white" killings are done with the "undertone" of theft/robbery/hijacking which makes it "more acceptable" to the masses.  This however was, according to me, an out and out "walk in and shoot" type killing spree.

BTW he also has a previous conviction in 2004 for killing a black guy and claimed he thought it was a dog, was still allowed to own a gun after that.

Be that as it may, I still believe there is a serious "double standard" being created here.

1) White kills black, there's always a racial whisper in the wind.

2) Black kills white, just another day in South Africa.

by posting it here you are fueling it further. Anyway, that dude should go rot in jail for the rest of his life and so should all other people committing murders/crime.

Very true, but remember, the white Safa is in the minority and currently the government will do anything to keep the fire of apartheid burning.  Yes, it was a balls up (apartheid), but most Safas are trying to do their part for the new SA.  Unfortunately it doesn't go both ways!!!

Agriforum handled it best calling for calm and non inflammatory actions and condemed all killing for whatever the motivation.

apparently the inital uproar in the actual township was about the slow response of hte saps. it was the media who started the whole "racial" issue. (this is from someone whose family member closed his business that day so that the workers could help the community out and to ensure they could participate in the demonstration about the slow reaction)
