Mine works fine in the side pouch of the camelbak.

 

Same here, have had zero problems with my phone in my camelbak.

 

Actually played squash with my phone above the door and it picked up my heart rate anywhere on the court.

I see Texas instruments have a kit that bridges ANT+ and Bluetooth, not sure of its physical size, battery details ect.

martin do you have any other devices? Polar, phone etc.

 

Also have a look at strava and the garmin edge 500.

Iam thinking of buying one of those handle bar mounts for my phone, there is a nice one at Sportmans warehouse, not too expensive either!
