Which Joberg2C flavour is the best...and why?

Any reason why you doing the full one this year?

Because when I got to the end of the 6 days riding along the beach I still wanted to ride more... thats how much I enjoyed it.

I have not done any of the big stage races in SA, but the 6 day makes most sense to me and what I have heard of the Berg & Bush route ending with the S2C you cannot go wrong.

I haven't done J2C (yet), but I'm aiming to do all 9 days. Reason being - it's the most time off work, and riding a bike is more fun than work. Period.

I enjoyed the first three days the most, it's my kind of scenery, I love the open Vrystaat.

The next three days were a surreal experience, Strekfontein, Spionkop and alles was sommer piele.

The last three days was a way home, having done some Sani's in the past.

 

The con, long time away, and don't do tents all 8 nights.

That is really the thing I am scared of when doing the six...feeling all like "ahhhh should have done the 9 day even though the six day has the prettiest track"

Ta, that is my feeling as well....its a journey afterall. Joberg2C...and the states is part of it.

I stand by this motto, rather be glad you did it than sorry you didnt...

Another year is a long time to wait to do it again but no less exciting!

 

I doubt you will have regrets doing the full 9 days

To me it is very simple,the race is called Joberg2C,not Karan to Sterkfontein,not Sterkfontein to Scottsburgh,have done it twice and every bit was enjoyable........fortunately the brain forget the hard parts.

 

So if you can afford it and get the time off it must be the whole hog

Absolutely agree! The whole hog or stay home. It is an awesome event, so well organised, good food, good laughs and camaraderie and I would like it if they add 3 more days
