it's the tires I say , I had a pair of conti race kings on my last SS and did like a gazillion miles on them with no hassles . think I need to go back to them again

I used two sets of Conti tires. A race king and a mountain king. One set per year for two years. Not one single puncture in two years. I put Rocket Rons on and average a puncture per week..

I have the x-king protection on the rear, and an old folding Rocket Ron on the front - must be around 2yrs old now. Never seen a puncture, maybe I don't ride as much as the rest of you

also been a convert since the day i put a conversion in. feel naked riding a bike with tubes, it's just not right.

got some emergency sludge grey sealant the other day at a race, and it has cocked up my valves six love. but otherwise no flats.

Amen to that!! i'd say it's more the tyres than anyhting else...

My front tyre is the Mountain king...and that sidewall is so reinforced...I don't think anythibnk can poke a hole in that!!

Wish i had your luck , im averaging a puncher every two weeks at the moment . think my tires have more plugs in them than tread .

Maxis Aspens on my SS , not cool tires for punchers ,i commute and ride this bike almost everyday .need these to wear out now so i can replace them .

I got Ritchey WCS on my other bike and the great.

its all about the tyres...

rubber deteriorates with time, so if you ride with strong tires (something like ust crossmark's) and you replace them at no more than 18 month intervals, you're very unlikely to get punctures, tubeless or not

I thought I was imagining things but all the guys I have seen with punctures on the side of the trail are fixing Schwalbes and some other brands.

I havent seen anyone fixing a Conti UST tyre and in the few years I have been riding them I havent had one puncture.

I know the Contis are a bit on the heavy side but Id rather have that and enjoy my ride than have a sense of humour failure on the trail trying to fix a porridge wheel

I've just taken Conti's off my bike - one puncture in two years. Replaced them with Crossmarks - too new to tell, will have to see how they go.
