Okay here is an answer to all of this:

ON-ONE inbred. Frame goes for UK Pound 116, convert that out and it is less than R3k.

You have a choice in terms of drop outs

The frame is steel (the ScandAL is ALU)

The tyre clearance is massive (2.4 inch)

The angles are slack (or a 120mm travel shock) and steeper for the 100mm travl

There are pannier mounts.

The disc brake mounts are on the inside of the rear triangle.

The 2013 model has cable mounts for continual cable casings.

The ON-ONE FAT BIke is also interesting (but a bit out of the box for our market)

And for that exact reason, I had to sell mine for relatively little money. This has to be one of the best deals available on a 29er frame at the moment, and the Inbred is a nice frame.

Why are most SS frames hardtail

do not see that many dual suspension SS

Chain tensioning. Your relative chain stay length changes as the suspension moves through its arc, thus affecting tension. You cannot do a dual sus SS without a chain tensioner.

That's the "scientific" reason, the "emotional" reason is that SS is supposed to be simple...

You do get a dual suss SS made by kona without a tensioner.

Yes, the suspension pivots around the BB so there is no change in the effective chainstay length.
