Silly question but will Prepsol mess up the brake pads if its gets in the calipers? Currently I have Muc Off which I'm not too impressed with....

Used on both off road motorbikes as well as MTB for years and never had an issue, should be safe, never even thought of it affecting brake pads or calipers.

I spray the whole bike with Propsol for years, never done any harm.

Once a couple of years ago I sprayed a white bike of mine with the stuff and left it

on for too long (30min) it stained the white bike - pink

Plenty of solvents DO damage brake pads - especially alkali ones - brake and wheel cleaners can easily destroy pads, and no race car team lets these things near a set of pads that is going to be used again.

That said - if you do use it, don't leave it on for very long (like 30 sec) and rinse it VERY well with clean water, and you should be OK - but no guarantees.make sure to use the brakes immediately afterwards to dry properly - they need to warm up a fair bit to get the pads to dry.

Pagid racing reccomend removing the pads before cleaning the braking system - they do not even like pads to get wet for extended time periods - and I think they know what they are talking about.

I used it for many yeas on my quads, similarly a big part of Quadtorque.co.za forum, which comprises over a 1000 riders uses Prepsol to clean their bikes.
