ok, who actually rides with white tape?

how often do you clean it and how? and how often do you replace it?

are there any particular brands that stay clean longer than others?

thanks

I ride with it. I kind of see it as a consumable, i.e. something that needs to be replaced quite regularly. I usually replace mine every month and give the tape a good scrub with a brush when I wash the bike.

All brands get dirty, I've tried most and there's very little difference between bartape that costs R80 and R250.

Ive used it, it gets good and dirty, especially if your gloves are black. Plastic based ones(Ravx, BBB) clean easier than the cloth/artificial leather types(Fizik) or cork options. Matching your brake hoods makes sense to complete the detail.

But, at the end of the day it always looks a little grubby, so no longer my first choice.

Mine's about 4500km old now, and after a quick 5min clean the tape is as clean as when it came off the shop floor.

People use Mr Min or Handy Andy. But for me the secret ingredient is OMO granules. So with a wet rag, squirt in some handy andy, a spray of Mr Min, then sprinkle a half cup of OMO. Rub the pasty mix into the tape then scrub with scrubbing brush. Becomes spotless quick sticks.
