I need to replace my wheels and tires on my Scott spark 50.

The wheels are still the standard ones it came with, just did a tubeless conversion.

I would like ones that are strong, lighter and not too expensive?

What are decent brands? ( i have no knowledge here)

Maxxis Icon/CrossMark

Schwalbe Racing Ralph SnakeSkin

Geax Saguaro (heavy but flippen strong)

All retal around R599-R650 depending on store or online order.

Summit Cycles can do the icon + sealant @ R650 per wheel for you. Good deal IMO.

Damn that is a good deal...sealant is moer expensive and you use at least 50 bucks worth in a conversion if you buy the big bottle

I had a Scott Spark 50 and put on ZTR Crest rims with Hope hubs and Racing Ralph snakeskin tyres and I was very happy. I've sold the bike but still have the wheel set. If you're interested, drop me a PM.

Today I have a Scott 29r with the same spec wheels.

Nope - Geax TNT as well as Ritchey WCS Shields are R450 online at the moment.
